Installing the SMS Admin Console
Two
batch files have been created to aide in the
installation of the SMS Admin Console. One
is for new installations and one is for
upgrading or reinstalling a previous version of
the SMS Admin Console.
The
batch files can be found at the following
network shares:
The following exceptions must
be made to the Windows Firewall in order for the
SMS Admin Console to properly communicate with
the SMS Site server.
Windows Firewall
Exceptions:
- Program Exception:
%windir%\system32\wbem\unsecapp.exe
- Program Exception:
%ProgramFiles\SMSADMIN\bin\i386\statview.exe
- Network Port Exception:
TCP 135

Several useful utilities are
available as add-ons to the SMS Admin Console
and area available at:
These tools may be
accessed by right-clicking on an SMS
Collection or an individual system object as
shown below.
